Your Role:

At Tenable, we’re shaping the way cloud security is done by constantly analyzing the challenges and practices of both defenders and adversaries. We’re looking for a cloud security advocate for our technical product marketing team to advance our efforts to provide the cloud security industry with high quality thought leadership. 

The ideal candidate is a  self-motivated engineer or cybersecurity architect with exceptional communication and engagement management skills. We’re looking for an autodidact and out-of-the-box thinker with a proven record of being able to quickly master and manipulate new technologies while also being able to communicate findings and ideas in an effective way across various media – both verbally and through written content. He or she should be well-versed in cybersecurity concepts and risk management as well as cloud technologies.

Your Opportunity:

  • Relationship management: You will work with partners and customers, as well as peers in the cybersecurity community and industry influencers on a regular basis – leading our engagement across various channels/media 

  • Thought leadership: You will be familiar with cutting-edge analysis techniques, technologies and procedures used by defenders and attackers. You will also need to communicate what you produce to a large audience of security professionals both online and at events and conferences. You must be able to understand customers and their pain points, needs and interests as a guide for this endeavor. 

  • Content creation: You will create high-end cybersecurity content in various media, analyzing cloud technologies, breaches, attack vectors, defensive strategies, etc.   

  • Expertise: You will be part of an expert team constantly advancing the company’s knowledge and understanding of the leading cloud and security technologies available today

  • Identify speaking engagements and additional media, channels and platforms for maximum results

  • Alert relevant constituents to industry activities, emerging trends and market changes that affect short-term or long-term strategy

What You'll Need:

  • B.Sc in computer science or equivalent STEM degree  

  • 8+ years of experience in developer relations, community management, application security, security architecture, automation integration and deployment (DevOps), technical / cyber analysis or equivalent technical roles 

  • Hands-on experience and proven working knowledge of at least one IaaS platform – AWS / Azure / GCP 

  • Established connections in the IT security community 

  • Empathy and an ability to take into account diverse opinions and needs

  • Deep technical, analytical and problem solving skills 

  • Keen understanding of IT security industry and regional security topics and trends

  • Ability to work independently, plan, multi-task and manage complicated assignments with little-to-no supervision 

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting publicly in front of large crowds

  • Experience speaking at leading IT security conferences

  • Be a team player and collaborate with various counterparts within the company as well as across functions and organizations

  • Ability to work at a computer for an extended period of time

  • Globally distributed organization

  • Frequent travel required

And Ideally:

  • Proven experience in customer and/or partner facing roles

  • Red-team and/or penetration testing experience 

  • Working familiarity with cybersecurity compliance standards and best practices  

  • Proven ability in working with large audiences in an instructional role 

  • Software engineering background 

  • Experience as part of a security team in a large organization  

  • Proven experience performing risk assessments for enterprises 

  • Experience working in a consultancy role

This is the base pay range for this position. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance. $172,000$229,333.33 USD
