POSITIONS SUMMARY:
The Relationship Banker Floater works closely with customers to provide exceptional and courteous banking services. This role handles a wide range of personal and transactional activities, supports branch operations, and identifies opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services. The position also assists in solving customer problems appropriately and efficiently while ensuring the operational safety, soundness, and compliance of the branch.
This position floats between the Volusia banking center (Daytona Beach) and the Flagler banking center (Palm Coast) depending on daily staffing needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Customer Transactions & Assistance
- Process customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, loan & cash advances, cashier’s checks, money orders, and outgoing wire transfers.
- Assist customers with debit card issues, online banking support, account inquiries, address changes, travel notifications, and access to safe deposit boxes.
- Provide accurate information, troubleshoot customer issues, and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Perform account closures (excluding IRAs & HSAs).
- Assist with balancing and maintenance of ATMs and the cash vault.
- Support branch opening and closing procedures.
2. Relationship Management & Cross-Selling
- Proactively identify customer needs and recommend appropriate bank products and services.
- Educate customers on alternate delivery methods and digital banking channels.
- Comply with and contribute toward branch goals, supporting growth and customer retention.
- Actively participate in lobby management, ensuring excellent customer experience.
3. Account Acquisition & Maintenance
- Open personal accounts for new and existing customers.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and address ongoing needs.
- Maintain accurate records, process account changes, and ensure proper documentation.
4. Branch Operations & Risk Management
- Assist co-workers with cash needs and other branch responsibilities.
- Ensure strong risk management practices through knowledge, awareness, and sound decision-making.
- Participate in daily quick starts and debrief sessions.
- Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations, policies, and procedures, and complete required training.
- Promote the bank’s culture of teamwork, volunteerism, and community engagement.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 12–24 months in financial services, sales, or retail preferred; some banking or sales experience strongly preferred.
- Customer Service Experience: Prior experience being evaluated or surveyed by customers preferred.
Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to cross-sell bank products and services.
- Sound reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Proficiency in applying logical or technical instructions while handling multiple variables.
- Keen awareness of the environment, customer needs, and industry trends.
- Demonstrated courtesy, efficiency, and professionalism in customer interactions.
- Flexibility to work varying hours depending on branch location and needs.
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive Motion: Frequent wrist, hand, and finger use.
- Talking & Hearing: Clear verbal communication and ability to hear average conversations.
- Vision: Adequate visual acuity to prepare/inspect documents and operate office equipment.
- Strength: Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally.
- Travel: Must be able to regularly drive between banking centers approximately 25 miles apart.
Working Conditions:
- Typical office environment with no hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
