Position Summary

Perform plant lubrication per established schedules.  Follows Lubrication routes and performs lubrication on bearings, gearboxes and moving machinery as required.  

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform Plant Lubrication following routes from Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system. These inspections will be from calendar schedules as well as hourly.  Must be able to calculate time intervals for lubrication schedules Includes gear oil, grease hydraulic fluid and filters.  Other work may be assigned within department as required. Lubricate, maintain and repair mechanical equipment throughout the plant. 
• Must be proficient in the majority of the following areas: Lubrication systems, routes and schedules, types of applicators, Draining gearboxes and reservoirs, replace fittings and filters, operate fork lift and mark lift, install remote lubricators and lines, use of personal  fall protection, interpret fluid analysis and samples for lubrication requirements, take fluid samples to support oil analysis, record and track monthly gear oil and grease usage, use SDT Ultrasound equipment to monitor lubrication condition, enter and retrieve information from electronic database using computer software. 
• Perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, walking, stooping, and handling tools and materials.
• Maintains operations by reading, interpreting, and applying complex written instructions in the form of Standard Operating Procedures and other written instructions.

• Perform other duties as assigned and general physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs, moving whole body and multilimbed coordination

Required Competencies and Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

• 0 to 3 Years Manufacturing Experience
• Lubrication Analysis Level 1 Certification
• Ultrasound Tech Level 1 Certification
• Machinery Lubrication Technician Category I Certification
• Routinely use testing devices and standard hand tools
• Must successfully pass company's forklift, aerial work platform, and mobile crane operator's test.

Physical Requirements

Works in all inside and outside areas of the plant and is often exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, grease, oil, and dirty working conditions. Work is performed while walking and standing or climbing a considerable portion of the time, often in awkward or strained positions.
