Reporting to the Site Despatch Manager, The Despatch Night Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing all despatch operations during the night shift, ensuring the efficient and timely distribution of goods. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Manage and lead the night shift despatch team, providing clear instructions, support, and motivation to ensure optimal performance.
• Operational Oversight: Supervise all despatch activities, including the loading and unloading of goods, to ensure that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of shipments.
• Compliance: Ensure all despatch activities comply with relevant regulations, company policies, and health and safety standards.
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, ensuring that stock is accurately recorded and managed to prevent discrepancies.
• Communication: Maintain effective communication with other departments to coordinate despatch activities and resolve any issues promptly.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on despatch activities, performance metrics, and any operational issues encountered during the night shift.

Essential Skills

• Experience: Proven experience in a despatch or logistics role in a supervisory or managerial position.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse team.
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively under pressure.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with despatch software and inventory management systems.
• Flexibility: Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to changing operational demands.
• Education: A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is desirable.

Working Conditions

The Despatch Night Shift Manager will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment during night hours of 6pm-6am. The role may involve physical activity, including lifting and moving goods, and requires adherence to strict health and safety protocols.
