Job Description:

If you join the Discrete Graphics Platform System Engineering team within DGE, you will develop hardware and graphics solutions for Intel products including the newest IPs targeted at next gen GPUs. You will have the opportunity to participate in enabling technologies in the areas of PCB design, manufacturing, testing and debug. System Architecture/Board Design responsibilities could include but not limited to:

  • Learn to resolve challenges in the areas of high-speed board design, power, digital and analog design
  • Innovate and simplify tools and processes via scripting
  • Use CAD and simulation tools such as Cadence Schematic HDL and System Capture, Sigrity
  • Participate in power on activities to bring new products and features to life
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, soldering and reworks, thermal camera measurements
  • Design PCB schematics, create layouts, and select components for a Bill of Material
  • Design specialized circuits board projects to support teams
  • Debug and maintain projects with various levels of complexity and purposes
  • Research and implement new technologies
  • Support and learn about E2E mega features including areas such as firmware, configuration, and software
  • Microcontroller and FPGA firmware design and debugging
  • Dynamically interact with Intel's cross-functional design and validation teams


Power Design responsibilities could include but not limited to: Understand power requirements of the new generation GPU in accordance to form factor and design

  • Use of simulation tools such as SIMetrix, MathCad, MatLab, PowerDC to verify initial proof of concept
  • Design schematics, create PCB layouts, and select components for a Bill of Material
  • Collaborate with the Board, layout, and thermo-mechanical teams to ensure reliable and robust design Bring up, Characterize and Validate designs to meet original specifications
  • Debug and Support designs through their life cycle
  • Develop and improve existing test procedures and methodologies to improve design and test flow
  • Use of scripting languages such as Python for automation of power measurements data collection


Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a nonexempt technical nature. Experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering, or other relevant science/engineering related field.
  • 3+ months of educational or work experience in the following:
  • Working in a lab environment with schematics/PCB or Robotics design
  • Programming/Scripting languages such as; C, C++, Perl, Python, Skill (Cadence), Excel VBA


Preferred Qualifications: (Ways to stand out above the crowd)

  • Extracurricular team activities showing initiative and strong work ethic
  • Computer enthusiasts with excellent knowledge of current leading PC technology
  • Experience in discrete graphics add-in cards/systems, building your own PC
