The Purchasing team plays a key role in enabling the Power Grid Business Unit in Central Europe to achieve its operational and strategic objectives. By managing supplier performance and ensuring effective sourcing across Switzerland, France, Italy, and Germany, the department contributes directly to business continuity and cost efficiency. With the creation of a new Business Unit and strong growth expectations, a new Purchasing Manager is needed to lead the function and support the next phase of development.
The Business Unit Purchasing Manager position involves the coordination of purchasing activities across multiple industrial sites. The role oversees a team of site-based purchasing leaders and ensures alignment with global category strategies and group standards. This function contributes to supplier performance, cost control, and risk mitigation while supporting the implementation of purchasing processes that meet both operational needs and long-term business goals.
Define and deploy the purchasing strategy across the Business Unit and supervise its execution.
Oversee supplier performance, lead key negotiations, and manage contractual frameworks.
Contribute to the development of purchasing standards and cross-functional improvement initiatives.
Support supply chain and operations by addressing quality and logistics issues with suppliers.
Identify sourcing risks and propose mitigation strategies to secure supply continuity.
Proven experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a multi-site industrial environment.
Fluency in English and French; German or Italian are a plus.
Demonstrated ability to manage teams and coordinate actions across functions and geographies.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and sourcing tools.
Availability for occasional travel (less than 20%) across Central European sites.
