The Position
As a Junior Backend Engineer (all genders) within our team, you’ll:
- Support the design, development, and maintenance of modular, customised software applications under the guidance of experienced engineers.
- Collaborate in the architecture, implementation, and debugging of high-performance applications, primarily using Java.
- Work with modern development practices, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automated testing.
- Contribute to Agile project teams responsible for full software development life cycle, from design to production.
- Help maintain system documentation and participate in project reviews.
- Learn and grow through mentorship, gaining experience with cloud technologies and scalable backend systems.
Junior Backend Engineer (all genders) Essentials:
- A relevant technical education or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, or backend development.
- Some experience with backend development, ideally in Java, through internships, projects, or academic work.
- A basic understanding of modern software architectures and development methodologies.
- Eagerness to learn about the Spring ecosystem (e.g., Spring Boot) and Microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with tools like Maven, Jenkins, and containerized solutions (Docker) is a plus.
- A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to learn from others and grow in a team-oriented environment.
- Good communication skills and a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
- Fluency in both English and German is required.
