Location: India, Hybrid
This is a hybrid position, which will require the ability to be onsite in our Bengaluru, India office as needed. Candidates must be based in India.

THE OPPORTUNITY:
At Clari + Salesloft, our Director of Engineering, Foundation platform will be pivotal to our company’s success. You will be a key member of our fast-growing and high-performing team in India. The Director of Engineering – Foundation Platforms will lead the engineering organization responsible for core shared services that power other products and customer experience. These are the building blocks used by all product teams to build, scale, and operate reliably and securely.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a curious,  creative, passionate, enthusiastic and experienced software development leader who will collaborate with senior leaders, peers and stakeholders to deliver products and services with engineering excellence and developer delight. This leader should possess practical experience building large-scale cloud-based systems with a relentless focus on engineering and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • In this role, you will be responsible for 
  • Technical Vision & Strategy:Define and drive the long-term technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for the engineering organization.Align engineering strategy with overall business goals and product vision.Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies.Ensure technical decisions support scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Team Leadership & Management:Lead, mentor, and grow multiple Engineering Managers and/or Team Leads.Vendor Management Oversee the hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development of engineering staff (including managers and senior ICs).Foster a high-performing, collaborative, innovative, and inclusive engineering culture.Build and maintain team morale, engagement, and retention.
  • Delivery & Execution:Oversee the planning, execution, and timely delivery of complex software projects across multiple teams.Ensure teams adhere to best practices (coding standards, code reviews, testing, CI/CD)Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery velocity, quality, and system health
  • Process & Operational Excellence:Establish, optimize, and standardize engineering processes (SDLC, Agile/Scrum/Kanban, release management, incident response).Drive continuous improvement in engineering efficiency, productivity, and quality.Implement and monitor metrics to measure team and organizational performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner closely with Product Management, Design, Security & other teams & StreamsCollaborate with senior leadership (Sr. Directors, other Directors, Executives) on strategic initiatives and company-wide goals.Represent the engineering organization in cross-functional meetings and strategic discussions.
  • Hiring and People :Growing your team through coaching, mentoringForecast hiring needs and participate in recruitment strategy.
Skill Set:
  • 15+ years of professional experience that includes individual contributor, tech leadership and management. 6+ yrs recent experience in Leadership roles. 
  • Experience in working on 1 -> 10 -> 100 product growth 
  • Multi-year experience in leading technical teams in software engineering with a platform mindset handling full stack development
  • Multi-year experience with highly-scalable and highly-available systems.
  • Experience with Vendor management 
  • Ability to oversee multiple technologically complex project deliveries in parallel.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest trends in web application development, including the AWS/GCP ecosystem 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and work with cross functional leaders across India and USA
  • Deep understanding of SDLC with agile practices
  • Strong business acumen. Thinks and acts strategically for the benefit of the business
  • Humility, approachability and a learning mindset
