360 Labs Initiative at a Glance

The 360 Labs are a new capability that is currently being built up within the Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development organization (pRED). The primary mission of this effort is to provide greater access and support for the use of cutting-edge biomedical research technologies by scientists across our discovery portfolio.

The 360 Labs will deliver core scientific technologies, expertise and enabling activities, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing in close collaboration with our therapeutic areas and functions. Our ambition is to bring to life a thriving workplace environment, where your collaborative mindset is as valued as your professional expertise. Our goal is to act as an highly integrated ecosystem, supporting research and development, working collaboratively, and focused on fostering excellence and sustainability. Together, these efforts will serve to increase the speed, enhance the robustness and improve the sustainability of our exploratory research and early discovery activities.

The Opportunity

The Genomics Technology Platform within the 360 Labs Initiative is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, collaborative, and customer-focused scientific professional with exceptional laboratory skills. The ideal candidate will possess a high-level of technical skill in the application and use of cutting-edge NGS methodologies, combined with a scientific background in oncology and/or immunology. Working with a sense of urgency, you will collaborate within a matrix team, partnering with scientists across our therapeutic areas, global functions, and other 360 Labs Technology platforms to advance drug discovery projects. Additionally, you will contribute to the ongoing evolution of the Genomics Technology Platform, as well as the overall 360 Labs ecosystem within the pRED organization.

  • You will independently plan, design, and execute NGS experiments, including both routine protocols and customized approaches, and effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise;

  • You will ensure the continued production of high-quality research data by performing regular quality control of NGS data and troubleshooting of related NGS instrumentation;

  • You will embrace a continuous learning mindset by actively engaging with the scientific literature to stay abreast of emergent technologies /approaches in the genomics field, as well as broaden your knowledge of other technology areas within the 360 Labs ecosystem.

Who you are

  • You hold a graduate degree (MS or PhD) in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field, and have a minimum of 5 years of Biotech or Pharma industry experience in the application of NGS methodologies to research questions in early drug discovery;

  • You possess proven, hands-on practical experience in carrying out diverse NGS workflows, including, but not limited to, single-cell dissociation, RNA/DNA extraction, library preparation, and sequencing. Candidates with expertise with 10X Genomics single-cell and spatial transcriptomics workflows, as well as in the operation of NGS platforms, both short- and long-read NGS sequencing platforms are highly desired; 

  • You have a solid understanding of, and high comfort level with the computational tools and software(s) used for the quality control and analysis of NGS data.
