To drive towards the goal of creating a compelling portfolio, HP is seeking for a highly motivated Business Planning Manager responsible for one of our line of businesses called Managed Services. The role of portfolio planning is to provide oversight, guidance, and governance to ensure that the organization's plans are aligned with its strategic objectives. Our business plans must be optimized to achieve the best possible return on investment while effectively managed to mitigate risks and maximize performance.
In order to support these objectives within the Portfolio Planning function, you will be responsible for long and short-term planning, optimization and strategy bridge for all Digital Services that compose our portfolio. We are seeking an experienced business planner with experience in modern planning processes, including service and software product roadmaps within an enterprise-class scaled Agile methodology. We are looking for a professional that will balance discipline and planning rigor with nimbleness and agile planning techniques to ensure we can move quickly to react to evolving business needs.
This role will report to the Portfolio Planning Director and work closely with peers in Portfolio performance, Analytics and New Service/Product Introduction operations, as well as with cross-functional partners such as Finance, Category, Current Business, Go-To-Market, Software R&D, and Product Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Long- and short-term Portfolio Planning: You will be responsible for developing financial models (revenue, margin, OPEX, ROI) for new business opportunities. Partner with strategy & business development team on recommendations for new opportunities. You will do so defining, facilitating, and continuously improving the planning exercise for a specific business line - identifying, evaluating, selecting, and prioritizing a portfolio of projects, programs, and initiatives that align with the organization's strategic objectives and goals.
- Planning optimization: Develops and drives comprehensive business plan recommendations, based on analytics as well as developing recommendations for optimizing business and financial performance. You will also connect with your peers portfolio business planners of the other business lines in the organization to contribute to HPWS portfolio planning.
- Strategy investment OKR management : You will work closely with your peer in Portfolio Analytics and product management to establish and monitor key performance indicators that bridge the delivery of the organization's strategic objectives and goals through the funded initiatives.
- Agile planning: You will contribute to move HPWS toward a more enterprise-class scaled Agile methodology in both our strategic planning and our annual planning, including establishing a predictable cadence of program increments/waves, consistent release cadence, and disciplined capacity and budgetary planning.
Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem solving skills

- Extensive knowledge of and ability to manage statistical analysis and financial modeling.
- Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge within at multiple business units, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.

- Excellent project management skills, including project structuring and managing multiple work streams independently.
- Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.
- Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team- building, conflict resolution, and management.
- Ability to identify and draw on leading-edge analytical tools and techniques to develop creative approaches and new insights to client issues.
- Ability to independently draft and present client deliverables, recommendations, and communications strategies.
Education and Experience Required:
- Typically 10+ years total experience in strategy, planning, operations, finance, or related functional area. Advanced university degree required (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
