Primary Location: Muskegon

Full Time: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the following

12 hour shifts, every other weekend

Position Summary:
The Basic EMT provides essential pre-hospital care under state and local protocols. Operating under physician direction and within the scope of licensure, the EMT ensures safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver basic life support (BLS) in diverse environments per applicable protocols.
  • Provide accurate and concise verbal reports to receiving medical personnel.
  • Operate Trinity Health EMS vehicles safely and professionally, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
  • Maintain clear communication with Dispatch via radio or phone.
  • Complete all documentation accurately, legibly, and promptly.
  • Conduct vehicle and supply checks at the start of each shift using Trinity Health EMS checklists.
  • Inspect vehicle readiness, including brakes, lights, and fluid levels.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
  • Perform patient assessments and screenings per Medical Control Authority protocols.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of vehicles and quarters per Trinity Health EMS policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current EMT-Basic license (State of Michigan)
  • Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record
