Position Description 

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Account Manager, Full Line Manufacturer Engagement Services.

McKesson is a leading provider of distribution and commercialization solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturers.  We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and dependable leader to join our Full-Line Wholesale Distribution Team. 

The Sr. Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and expanding manufacturer relationships, launching new products into the market, managing all aspects of a product lifecycle, providing excellent customer service for our internal and external partners, and contract implementation.  The Sr Account Manager is the liaison between the manufacturer and McKesson’s various business units.  The Sr. Account Manager supports top tier manufacturer partners and provides service excellence through proactive pre-launch, launch and post-launch interaction. 

This role is also responsible for participating in cross-functional initiatives, providing subject matter expertise with strategic business partners, partnering with groups across PSaS to build value added solutions for manufacturer partners, and providing a differentiated level of launch excellence. A strong background in account/customer service management, product/project management, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications, and working in a highly matrixed environment are required. 

Key Responsibilities 

Responsible for the successful set up, launch and maintenance of manufacturer partner’s products and services within Full-Line Wholesale Distribution by:  

  • Creating, maintaining, and leading a near term product launch pipeline tracker.

  • Working closely with internal partners to set up and manage class of trade restrictions, inventory levels, returns processing, contract pricing, chargeback processing, manufacturer reporting, financial processing for both inbound and outbound transactions, and daily account/product inquiries. 

  • Providing support and product information to the Sales and Customer Service Teams.

  • Utilize SAP to manage account and product attributes.

Responsible for developing high customer satisfaction and growing our footprint within manufacturer partner organizations by: 

  • Assisting manufacturers in navigating the larger McKesson enterprise. 

  • Developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of McKesson’s products, functions, marketing and/or service policies and procedures.

  • Proactively tracking and managing issues through to resolution.

  • Serving as the main point of contact for manufacturers on day-to-day questions/issues.

  • Participating in quarterly business reviews with manufacturer partners.

  • Understanding customer processes and decision drivers as well as their current and future needs.

  • Identifying new ways of creating value with customers. 

Manage internal customer relationships affecting customer management by: 

  • Continuously seeking new business opportunities.

  • Identify projects for process improvements.

  • Participating in or leading cross functional teams for the purpose of developing new product/service offering or driving process improvements.

  • Remain tightly connected with key internal stakeholders including Business Development, Procurement, and Operations on their activities, including supply chain optimization, reporting, governance, and planning. 

Ensuring alignment with the purchasing teams and their unique implementation processes by: 

  • Documenting key roles and responsibilities.

  • Establishing a thorough training and communication plan.

  • Scheduling ongoing status meetings between teams.

Education & Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

  • 3+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical distribution; specialty distribution experience preferred.

Critical Skills 

  • Team player with strong interpersonal and resource management skills. 

  • Demonstrated experience with project management, contract implementation, and customer service. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence in a cross functional, highly matrixed environment.

  • Advanced analytics and problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills. 

  • Excellent relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to work with internal groups. 

  • Thorough knowledge of company’s products, processes, and strategy.

  • Experience utilizing SAP Application. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 

Working Environment

  • Hybrid/Remote work environment near hub location.

  • This position is located near our Irving, TX Headquarters office.

  • Able to travel domestically/internationally 15% of the time, as need.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US unrestricted – This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$102,700 - $171,100
