Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Building Structures team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:- Design and analyze structural systems for building projects, including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations and drawings
- Conduct site visits and perform structural inspections
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure integrated solutions
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements to apply best practices
- Prepare technical reports and documentation
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
- 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Knowledge and experience in AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup with some ability to produce drawings and details, when needed
- Knowledge and experience in structural analysis and design software, such as STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT, and other structural related design software
- Strong sense of urgency and self-discipline to meet client deadlines
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects concurrently
- Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills with a continuous mindset on personal and staff development
- Positive, can-do attitude and a strong work ethic
