The Moelis & Company Business Management team is seeking a Capital Markets Business Analyst to join the team in New York. The Business Management function directs the firm’s strategy & development, franchise management, banker resource management, reporting & analysis, and business data management. The Capital Markets Business Analyst will be an integral resource and support for the Capital Markets team which structures and executes customized financing solutions, and advises clients across industries on all aspects of public and private debt and equity transactions. The Business Analyst role requires to take on significant responsibility across business development, data administration, pipeline management, and reporting & analysis.
Responsibilities
• Provide support for a full range of financial and strategic transactions across both debt/equity private placement and public advisory mandates
• Assist with and maintain internal materials/dashboards that track business development efforts
• Draw analysis from third party service providers such as, but not limited to: Bloomberg, Dealogic, PitchBook, Private Raise, SpacInsider, AdvantageData, and Preqin
• Maintain weekly internal presentations and assist in improving structure of internal reports
• Develop knowledge of buy-side investor universe, including private equity, hedge funds, non-bank lenders and alternative institutional investors
• Monitor and maintain investor relationships by tracking outreach, engagement, and connectivity across various projects and products
• Maintenance of multiple databases in Excel and Salesforce such as, but not limited to: Debt Products, Equity Products, PIPEs, IPOs, and ATMs
• Maintain and organize internal credentials and transaction precedents to ensure easy access for deal execution and marketing efforts
• Track and forecast revenue for live mandates
• Lead/participate in internal meetings
• Support group presentations and capital market updates
• Coordinate and track follow-ups for Underwriting and deSPAC Committees with committee members and deal teams
Skills and Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree, preferably in a business-related major
• 1-3 years of experience in the financial services industry preferred; Investment Banking experience and knowledge is a plus
• Strong technical/computer and relevant market data services skills including Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Bloomberg, Dealogic, PitchBook, Private Raise, SpacInsider, AdvantageData, and Preqin is a plus)
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills (i.e., financial and data analysis)
• Strong organizational skills, and outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to perform under pressure without conceding accuracy or quality
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, able to interact with bankers and employees of all levels across the firm
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
• Strong work ethic, propensity to take ownership of deliverables and its completion
Expected Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
