The Opportunity:

The Coordinator is responsible for performing various tasks at a customer site, including but not limited to inventory management, issuing, receiving, chemical tracking, storeroom tracking, and product delivery. The position requires knowledge and proficiency in using VWR and routine customer systems. The Coordinator is expected to engage in routine customer interaction and report progress as required.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

  • Adhere to all applicable safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage a standalone store, which involves receiving goods from suppliers and ensuring the security and cleanliness of the stockroom.
  • Communicate regularly with lab users and other team members to provide updates and address any issues that arise.
  • Keep accurate records of all goods received and issued to users, ensuring that items are stored in their appropriate conditions.
  • Maintain positive customer relations and provide excellent customer service experiences.
  • Manage the collection and delivery of goods to other sites using the customer's facilities.
  • Archive important documents into electronic files for future reference.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate closely with the team to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience, and Certifications)

  • A minimum of Nitec/Diploma in any field from a recognized institution.
  • Preferably with working experience in store management or material handling.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Proficiency in English language, both written and verbal.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Ability to manage the store alone and effectively, including receiving and issuing goods, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the security and cleanliness of the stockroom.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation, both manual and electronic.
  • Ability to use computer systems, such as OneDrive, Excel, and Email, to perform required tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • High regard for safety, quality, and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English to provide quality customer service and collaborate effectively with team members and customers.
  • Possess good customer service attitude and skills to maintain positive customer relations.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate closely with other team members to achieve goals.
  • Have a "can-do" attitude and willingness to be hands-on when needed to complete tasks.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint to maintain electronic records.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 10kg safely, as required for tasks such as receiving and issuing goods.

The work environment characteristics and physical effort described here are representative of those associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Typical position requires an individual to work in an environment that is primarily store-based.
  • The work environment has adequate lighting, ventilation, and normal levels of temperature and noise.
  • Work is mostly sedentary, it does require some physical effort. The individual must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, lift, or carry objects that may weigh up to 10kg. Therefore, the individual should have adequate physical fitness and be able to perform these tasks safely and efficiently.
