POSITION SUMMARY

 

Under the direct supervision of the Lead Surveillance Technician, the Surveillance Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, alignment, repair, and proper operation of all surveillance equipment at all Tribal properties, including closed circuit televisions and Enterprise level Surveillance systems.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  1. Installs and maintains all closed-circuit television cameras, recording devices, expansion equipment, and related wiring for the SS Band of Miwok Indians Surveillance department.
  2. Implements preventative maintenance efforts designed to eliminate system failures.
  3. Facilitates the flow of information throughout the department by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. Ability to qualify for, obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Shingle Springs Tribal Gaming Commission, including pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
  3. Applicant must have a working knowledge of basic power tools, including but not limited to saws, drills, and measuring and certification equipment.
  4. Applicant must have a very basic understanding of electrical metering and AC/DC voltages.
  5. Applicant must be able to be certified for a forklift and aerial lift.
  6. Applicant must have a clean driving record and be able to drive Tribal company vehicles.







PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  1. Any prior knowledge of CCTV, alarm, or access control installation or maintenance not required, but is preferred.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee is regularly exposed to danger of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  When on the casino floor, exposure to loud noises is expected.  A casino environment is typically smoky.





NATIVE PREFERENCE



Preference in hiring is given to either the most qualified applicant or a Native American candidate who meets the minimum qualifications. When two (2) or more Native American candidates have comparable qualifications, the following order of preference shall apply: (1) Members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (2) Spouses or domestic partners (certified through Tribal Court) of members of Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (3) Parents of children of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians; (4) All other documented Native Americans; (5) All other applicants in accordance with Title 25, U.S. Code, Section 472 and 473. Applicants claiming Native preference must submit verification of Indian eligibility.
