About the Role:

As the Sales Director – Target, you will take the lead in managing the strategic relationship with Target within the Mass Channel. You will be at the forefront of driving growth through joint business planning, executing category leadership initiatives, and shaping long-term strategies that deliver results.

 

In this role, you will also build and refine key Sales Strategy capabilities, including pricing architecture, trade investment optimization, and innovation planning. Your ability to collaborate across functions will be essential, as you work closely with partners in Category Management, Trade Marketing, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Supply Chain, and Sales Operations.

 

You will report directly to the Vice President of Strategic Accounts, and your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of our partnership with Target.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Customer volume and value targets as agreed during the annual business planning process
  • Delivery of Monthly Trade Spend and ROI targets as defined during annual GTM strategy and planning sessions
  • Build, manage, and develop a high-performing Target-dedicated team of NAMs and Team Leaders
  • Lead annual Joint Business Planning (JBP) process with Target, aligning on growth strategies, innovation launches, and long-term category partnership
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders: Trade Marketing, Category Management, RGM, Supply Chain, Sales Operations, Finance, and Marketing
  • Define and implement sales and profitability growth targets across the Target account
  • Deliver excellence in Trade ROI, promotional efficiency, and Category leadership KPIs
  • Provide consistent monthly monitoring and reporting on account performance, including forecasting accuracy and trade efficiency analytics
  • VP-level engagement with Target buyers and senior executives, including participation in annual Top-to-Top meetings
  • Partner with Marketing and Category Management to ensure Ferrero brands are positioned as category growth drivers within Target’s strategic priorities

Who we are looking for:

  • Minimum 8 years of Customer Management, Merchandising, or Category Management experience in CPG within the U.S. market
  • Proven Mass Channel experience; direct Target experience strongly preferred
  • Multi-channel exposure (Mass, Grocery, Dollar, eComm, Value) a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred
  • Strong communication skills with ability to articulate and reinforce a clear Customer and Channel vision
  • Strategic and proactive leader with strong influencing skills at senior customer and internal stakeholder levels
  • Commercially astute with excellent analytical skills and trade ROI understanding
  • Inspirational leadership style that promotes collaboration, accountability, and top-talent development

Compensation Data

The base salary range for this position is $156,000 - $210,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
