This is a maintenance program designed to give entry-level talent on-the-job training and exposure to the Maintenance Technician position with the intent that trainees would move into a regular Maintenance Technician role upon program completion.
HOURS
Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
Limited nights and weekends for on-call training.

- Works directly with Maintenance Mentor to complete outlined Maintenance-In-Training Learning Plan
- Completes assigned training courses
- Reviews all existing work orders with the Maintenance Mentor and completes work orders as assigned
- Performs ground keeping tasks (as needed, based on needs of the property)
- Assist the Property Manager in completing unit-to-unit inspections
- Works directly with Property Manager and onsite technicians to keep an adequate inventory of hand tools, parts and supplies to maintain a complete workshop area
- Works with Maintenance Mentor to monitor and maintain all building systems (HVAC, plumbing, boilers) and complete all site-level preventative maintenance duties
- Maintain positive and professional manner with all residents, vendors and the public
- Comply with all safety program requirements and work to promote safety in the workplace
- Alerts the Property Manager to any unusual circumstances or high priority issues that need immediate attention
- All other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor
- Minimum of 0-2 years’ experience in a related work environment (construction, maintenance, general labor)
- AA degree or certification in mechanical, HVAC, electrical or industrial maintenance (preferred)
- Fluent in English and skilled in oral and written communication
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy in a clear, courteous manner when dealing with co-workers and the public
- Excellent decision-making, problem solving, and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously with self-direction
- Ability to openly accept feedback and display a willingness to learn
- Ability to perform assigned tasks with some work direction
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
