Marzetti Company is looking for an Accounting Specialist to coordinate, plan, and prepare financial reports and analysis projects for the Director of Finance and Supply Chain Operations (Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Logistics). This person will oversee and coordinate the accounting accuracy of all materials and supplies for plant operations, daily production reporting, purchasing activity and product pricing.
Responsibilities:- Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly inventory transaction reports for the plant.
- Assists with financial analysis for manufacturing, commodities, and logistics as it relates to month-end actuals
- Assists with the development of manufacturing plant scorecard that provides key metrics related to financial and operational performance
- Maintains current formula files in compliance with QA and R&D requirements.
- Assists in monthly physical inventories, reconciles inventory data, and determines variances.
- Oversee daily production reports for accuracy and yield factors.
- Assists with database adjustments and changes as required for labor, costs, and formulas.
- Researches and analyzes plant information to provide advice to the Finance Manager.
- Provide support to internal customers including Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics and Finance
- Daily, weekly, monthly and other period reporting and performance analysis, including the updating and maintenance of these reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensures compliance with quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
- Develop and support business reviews and presentations including numerous ad hoc Senior Leadership Reviews
- Perform special projects as requested.
- 3-5 years’ accounting experience in a food industry manufacturing environment preferred.
- Functional experience and a solid understanding of accounting practices, costing and P&L Management
- High level of proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel for automating reporting, processing large volume data and interfacing with corporate reporting systems
- Working knowledge of accounting systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various levels of the organization
- Ability to perform analysis of business information and identify trends
- Ability to manage and execute multiple concurrent tasks to meet deadlines
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy of business reporting
- BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
