GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Conducts classroom observations using Infant, Toddler, and Pre-K CLASS tools
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Schedule, complete, and provide feedback on CLASS observations as needed for SR and VPK
- Work with other assessors to research and arrive at a consensus on different domains, dimensions, items and indicators on CLASS tools
- Complete detailed observation reports which include CLASS scores
- Complete calibration observations offered by Teachstone to remain a ‘reliable’ CLASS assessor
- Conduct trainings for prospective assessors including in-class training and field visits
- Assist with overview trainings for directors and teachers on CLASS
- Inform Director of Program Quality and Assessment about any specific issues pertaining to center observations or visits
- Assist with completing Guiding Stars 5.0 documentation review / validation and finalize star ratings
- Assist with updating content on the ELC of Duval website
- Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings and job related events
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
There will also be other duties, as the Coalition sees fit, to help with the overall mission of the organization, and to provide services based on state mandates and other requests.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to the Director of Program Quality and Assessment
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Ability to comprehend and effectively explain CLASS to child care directors and teachers
- Ability to use time management skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Psychology or related field
- 3-7 years specific experience in early childhood field
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
- Bilingual Preferred
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Required – Current CLASS Observer Certification in Pre K, Toddler CLASS, and/or Infant CLASS
- Highly Preferred - Pre K, Toddler, or Infant CLASS Train-the-Trainer Certification
- Valid Driver’s License
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Works primarily in childcare centers and an office setting
- 40 hour work week / 11 month position
- Travel to early learning centers and trainings
- Some nights and weekends for trainings and special events
