Description
The Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing sales of the company’s wine and spirits portfolio within the existing accounts, as well as well as new accounts. This role involves building strong relationships with accounts, executing sales strategies, conducting tastings and training, and ensuring product placement and visibility. The representative will identify new business opportunities and provide exceptional service to clients while meeting sales targets. Strong knowledge of wine and spirits, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the industry are essential.
Territory: Manhattan, NY
Responsibilities:
- Executes sales and education our wine and spirits portfolio to on-premises and off-premises accounts
- Maintains deep knowledge of MISA products and accounts
- Bolsters & builds on existing Customer relationships
- Commits to continuous learning in the areas of Wine and Spirits sales
- Expands account base monthly
- Explores new opportunities weekly allowing for MISA’s market expansion
- Discovers and identifies customer business growth needs
- Develops a business growth plan for each customer
- Completes inventory management
- Handles Sales Order Management
- Forecasts customer product needs
- Performs product procurement and fulfillment
- Participates in sales meetings, on-site trainings, and supplier events
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Existing relationships with accounts, strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of sales experience
- Relevant experience in Wine and Spirits
- Proficiency in industry equivalent software analytics platforms – Divetab, Diver, Microstrategies, Netsuite, etc.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends as necessary
- Industry credentials & certifications with WSET, CMS, CSW, WSG are a plus
- Demonstrated sales and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to foster positive relationships
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to consistently set goals and objectives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
