Hybrid Certified Obesity Medicine APP en Adena Health System

Adena Health System is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in obesity medicine to join our growing weight management program in Ohio. This position focuses on providing evidence-based, compassionate care to patients living with obesity—a chronic disease recognized by the American Medical Association since 2013. The NP will work under the supervision of a collaborating physician and the Director of the Obesity Medicine Program to develop individualized treatment plans aimed at sustainable weight loss and improved metabolic health.

The ideal candidate will be a compassionate, patient-centered Nurse Practitioner with a strong clinical foundation and a specialized interest in obesity medicine. They will hold a Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and possess a current, unrestricted license to practice in the State of Ohio.

This individual will be possess a Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine through the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) or committed to obtaining certification within six months of hire. They should have formal training or clinical experience in obesity management, and demonstrate a deep understanding of the chronic and complex nature of obesity, as well as a passion for providing long-term, empathetic patient care.

Experience:

• Prior experience in obesity medicine or demonstrated interest through training, continuing education, or clinical focus
• Newer NPs with strong clinical rotations in weight management and a commitment to pursuing OMA certification within 6 months will also be considered

Interested candidates will join an established group of one physician and 5 APPs. Our Physician sees 20+ patients per day, and the APPs see 14+ each.

Office Hours: *Monday 7a-4:30p, Tuesday 7a-7p, Wednesday and Thursday 7a-4:30p, Friday 7a-4p
