Role Overview
Continental General is seeking a Solution Architect to help bridge the gap between complex business opportunities and innovative technical solutions. Operating at the intersection of business strategy and technology implementation, the Solution Architect is responsible for translating business requirements into scalable, secure, and effective architectures that align with organizational goals. This position partners with key stakeholders to lay the foundation for successful project delivery, operational excellence, and contributes to organizational innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including value stream teams and leaders, business analysts, project managers, internal/external clients, and subject matter experts, to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements. Ensure that all functional and non-functional requirements are understood and incorporated into the solution design.
- Develop high-level and detailed architectural designs for solutions that are robust, scalable, and cost-effective. Select appropriate technologies, platforms, and frameworks to support the solution’s objectives, while considering future scalability and integration with existing systems and cross-functional use of tools where appropriate.
- Research, assess, and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to ensure that solutions remain current with emerging trends and best practices. Conduct proof-of-concept exercises to evaluate potential technologies.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating business needs into technical specifications, and ensuring alignment across teams. Present architectural plans and solution concepts to executive leadership, clients, and value stream teams.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across all solutions. Conduct code and design reviews as necessary.
- Identify potential technical and business risks, and develop mitigation strategies, to address them throughout the solution’s lifecycle.
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to value stream solution delivery teams during implementation, ensuring that the solution aligns with the architectural vision. Troubleshoot technical challenges and make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Design and oversee integration strategies to ensure seamless connectivity between new solutions and existing enterprise systems.
- Produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, workflows, and technical roadmaps, to facilitate efficient implementation, maintenance, and future enhancements.
- Help drive a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating solution performance post-implementation, gathering feedback, and identifying opportunities to optimize or enhance the architecture.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field., or the equivalent years of education and experience required.
- 7+ years of experience in solution architecture, software development, or a related technical field.
- Proficient in designing and implementing solutions using cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, programming languages, and architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, SOA, event-driven architecture).
- Experience with enterprise systems integration, API management, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and the capacity to anticipate future challenges and opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and drive consensus in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing business needs and technological advancements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar.
