The Business Solutions Manager leads the Business Analyst and Product Owner teams, promoting growth, effective work allocation, and continuous professional development. The Business Solutions Manager collaborates with leadership to support resourcing planning across the company.

 DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for a team of Business Analysts and Product Owners.
  • Identify training needs and oversee the career development plans and succession strategies for team members.
  • Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Assign and balance work across the team based on skills, availability, and business priorities.
  • Ensure team members are effectively collaborating with stakeholders, Agile teams, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support effective communication, and engagement, for hybrid and remote team members, ensuring equitable access to resources, collaboration opportunities, and career development. 
  • Promote Agile best practices and ensure consistency in how product requirements and user stories are developed, communicated, and refined.
  • Manage all aspects of the Business Analyst and Product team, including hiring, managing performance, providing regular team member feedback, mentoring and planning work assignments.
  • Collaborate regularly with the Director of DASA, Portfolio Managers and Engineering Managers to plan, coordinate and evaluate projects/systems/activities, exchange information, investigate and resolve problems, and share information.
  • Assist in planning and administering Information Technology department operating budgets that pertain to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

Functional and administrative supervision of 10-15 resources in Business Analyst and Product Owner roles. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

General supervision received from the Director of Data, Analytics, Strategy & Alignment. 

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, business or other appropriate discipline, plus 7 or more years of industry, IT or software project management, and supervisory experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Experience as a manager, or project lead within product development.
  • Experience working with Business Analyst or Product Owners in IT organization preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate, develop, and support high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Analysis and product management frameworks (e.g., BABOK, Agile, SAFe, Scrum methodologies) preferred.
  • Experience with the Agile/SAFe methodology and Agile tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.).
  • Highly self-motivated and directed and able to effectively operate in demanding situations.
  • Proven experience collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams, including IT, business stakeholders, and QA teams.
  • Ability to represent the company to and deal effectively with a variety of other organizations/individuals outside the company, as well as a wide range of company personnel including management.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA) or Product Ownership (CSPO, PSPO) is a plus.
  • Relevant insurance industry experience preferred.
     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required.

Thesalary range reflected is a good faith estimate of base pay for theposition.  In addition to base salary, this role is incentive compensationand benefits eligible, and individual salary will ultimately be determinedbased on individual experience, skills, qualifications and geographiclocation.
