SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Seeking a dependable and proactive Assistant Warehouse Manager to support daily operations at our intermodal warehouse facility in Houston, Texas. This role plays a key part in supervising staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring safety compliance. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in logistics, strong organizational skills, and the ability to step into leadership when needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in supervising warehouse staff and daily logistics.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with audits.
• Ensure adherence to safety and operational procedures.
• Support training and onboarding of new employees.
• Step in for the Warehouse Manager as needed.

Software Proficiency:

• Fishbowl, QuickBooks Commerce, or Zoho Inventory
• Microsoft Excel (intermediate level)

Tools & Machinery Skills:

• Forklift and pallet jack operation
• Use of handheld barcode scanners
• Familiarity with overhead crane safety and signaling
• Basic use of steel handling tools (e.g., clamps, chains, rigging gear)

Soft Skills:

• Team-oriented and dependable
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Effective communicator
• Initiative-driven and proactive
• Safety-conscious and detail-focused

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or equivalent certification.
• 2–4 years of experience in warehouse or logistics roles.
• Associate degree or coursework in logistics, supply chain, or business (preferred).
