Hybrid 2nd Floor Manager en Oral Arts Dental Lab

Position: 2^nd Floor Crown & Bridge Manager

Location: Huntsville, AL 

Oral Arts is a full-service family owned and operated dental laboratory. We manufacture dental prostheses, such as crowns, bridges, implants, dentures, partials, orthodontic appliances, etc. and seeking an internal candidate have a need for a 2^nd Floor Crown & Bridge Manager. 

Description of responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Ensure all manufacturers’ instructions are being followed.  Any deviations from manufacturer should be approved by upper management.
• Make sure all Rx’s and schedules are being followed in your department.
• Fill at the bench when needed. 
• Oversee department production to keep work from bottlenecking.
• Approve over time when needed and justified with production quotas being met.
• Ensure that all employees are following company policies.
• Document employee counseling sessions with Human Resources for Personnel files.
• Field customer service calls correctly and handle in a professional manner when needed. 
• Ensure that your department is working as a team and displaying a good attitude.
• Communicate with your Supervisors regarding all company events, new policies, or other pertinent information.
• Maintain department supplies and prevent excess inventory of supplies.
• Evaluate each person in your departments once a year according to their anniversary
• All major department changes must be discussed with the VP or CEO prior to implementation.
• Approve vacation and make sure no two critical people are out at the same time.
• Ensure Time Off Requests or timecard issues are submitted to HR in a timely manner.
• Ensure absenteeism and tardiness is kept to a minimum. Contact HR for documentation.
• Keep departments clean and organized.   
• Ensure new employees receive proper training.
• Request adequate staff to perform department duties.
• Ensure that all employees are working during work hours and cell phones are on an emergency basis only. (other than specified break times)
• Communicate any quality problems see.
• Encourage employees to become CDT certified.
• Enforce company policies including company safety guidelines.
• Immediately respond to emergency problems such as water leaks, power outages, or fires.   Must know where water shut off valve is located to turn off the water in case of water leak.  Immediately contact the Maintenance Manager.  
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Required experience:

• Must have at least 5 years experience in as a Crown & Bridge Supervisor 
• Must have a solid understanding of dental terminology, strong communication skills, strong level of awareness.  
• Must have a good, general knowledge of all lab procedures, crown morphology, and case design. 
• Must be able to manage people, processes, and technology
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be able to multitask 
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to read and write 

Pay/Salary is based on relevant experience.
