The Technical Product Manager supports the Proposal Management Team by preparing technical documentation for bids, performing preliminary infrastructure assessments, and coordinating with Research & Development to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility. This role acts as a critical bridge between solution design and proposal delivery, translating customer requirements into clear, technically sound responses.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone with strong technical literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly across teams and with external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
Review and respond to technical sections of RFPs and tenders, including compliance matrices and detailed requirement tables.
Prepare and maintain standard technical proposal content, including:
Technical narrative documents
High-level architecture diagrams
Bill of Materials (BOMs) aligned with customer infrastructure needs and specifications
Conduct preliminary technical analysis to support proposal design (e.g., identify customer infrastructure environments from documentation or discussions).
Liaise with R&D to validate assumptions and confirm the technical feasibility of proposed configurations.
Document and maintain reusable technical assets to improve proposal turnaround time.
Support and guide partners and resellers in preparing technical proposal inputs, aligning solutions with customer requirements, and ensuring consistency with FreeBalance’s architecture standards.
(Occasionally) support customer or partner discovery calls or site visits for basic technical information gathering.
Qualifications:
3+ years in a technical pre-sales, systems analyst, infrastructure, or product support role (ideally in enterprise software or GovTech).
Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components (servers, databases, operating systems, networking, cloud vs. on-premise).
Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into proposal-ready content.
Experience preparing technical documentation, diagrams, and BOMs for proposals or internal projects.
Familiarity with architecture diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Visio, Draw.io) and Excel-based BOMs.
Excellent documentation, organization, and cross-team communication skills.
Strong written English, including technical writing and editing.
Skills:
Exposure to government procurement or donor-funded project environments.
Experience with public financial management (PFM), ERP, or similar enterprise software systems.
Experience working with channel partners or resellers on technical enablement or bid support.
Ability to work with minimal supervision across time zones.
