Our OSB Mill in Edson has an opening for a Team Lead with strong technical and leadership capabilities.
The Team Lead will be reporting directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for leading a shift of hourly associates in achieving safety, quality, and production goals.
We are seeking individuals who are committed to safety, have a positive attitude, and have excellent work ethic.
This position is 12-hour shifts, 4 days on/4 days off, rotating from days to nights.
Key Functions:
The Production Supervisor is expected to be a role model in our safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living our core principles of integrity, fairness, creating a positive work environment, and ensuring open communication among associates. Accountabilities include ensuring compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations. Following are the key functions for this role:
- Supervise and develop employees reporting to this position.
- Responsible for safe, efficient operation of crew and all production facilities while on shift.
- Ensuring proper job and safety procedures are followed.
- Participate in team meetings and safety training
- Identify and address process improvements, quality and production issues
- Hold oneself and others accountable for behaviours and performance
- Ensure adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
- Proactively resolving employee issues and improve team work
- Coordinates operations activities with maintenance team, to proactively address all equipment concerns.
- Perform administrative duties such as preparing appropriate reports for shift operation and verify payroll time sheets.
