We are currently seeking a Life Insurance Planning Specialist to serve our Calgary Region Offices who is passionate about insurance, risk management and estate planning. The Life Insurance Planning Specialist will proactively engage Raymond James Financial Advisors and clients in developing insurance sales. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for generating life insurance sales and managing throughout the sales cycle from prospecting, application and ongoing service.
  • Drive insurance sales at Raymond James within the assigned territory,
  • Establish strong working relationships with Financial Advisors, Associates, and Managers.
  • Meet with client’s to analyze and identify insurance needs and/or suitability for insurance products and strategies.
  • Serve as an educational and technical resource on life insurance products and planning strategies; risk management, asset protection planning, business continuity and succession planning, generational wealth transfer, and the complexities of estate, tax and charitable planning.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers and Head Office on insurance, risk management and estate planning initiatives.
  • Work with insurance carrier wholesalers to build awareness and promote their insurance solutions within Raymond James offices.
     

Qualifications

  • Must be life insurance licensed;
  • Five plus (5+) years’ experience in the Canadian Life Insurance Industry, including selling life insurance products to clients;
  • Possess a CFP, CLU, CHFC or similar designation(s);
  • Canadian Securities Course an asset;
  • Insurance and financial planning expertise, including specific knowledge of the top 5 to 10 life insurance carriers in the marketplace and their current product offerings; 
  • Working knowledge of computer applications, including insurance quoting and planning software;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal; and 
  • Interpersonal skills to build long-term, trusted relationships.
