Our Industry Operations Data team plays a crucial role in managing internal key data, such as Billing, Metering and Dataflows as well as the data exchanged with industry bodies like OFGEM & DESNZ. They support accurate billing for our customers, respond to RFIs across all business sections, and maintain the smooth operation of our business-critical processes.
We are looking for a data leader to guide this team, using their experience of working in data and regulated environments to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our data, and to identify opportunities for automation.

What You’ll Do
Lead our UK Industry Operations Data team, developing and nurturing our analysts.
Ensure high-quality delivery against industry RFIs.
Utilise data to identify opportunities for improving Octopus’ financial performance and customer experience.
Work directly with operational teams, building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Communicate complex data findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
What You’ll Have
Experience within the energy sector, preferably including work with regulators and industry bodies.
Experience managing and developing data analysts.
Hands-on experience working with cutting-edge tools such as those in our data platform stack (as below).

Parquet and Delta file formats on S3 for data lake storage
Spark for data processing
DBT for data modelling
SparkSQL for analytics
