The Role

The Content Writer & Editor is a copywriting specialist with advanced English writing skills who serves as the final editorial checkpoint for all content before publication. This role encompasses the typical duties of a technical writer – drafting, editing, and proofreading content – but with added emphasis on marketing-focused copy and AI-assisted workflows to polish outputs for production. In practice, the Editor ensures that any content created by colleagues across the company is refined to meet quality standards and brand voice guidelines before it goes live. They act as the final approver for content developed for the website, meaning no blog post, webpage, or marketing copy is published without their review.

This final quality-control function is critical: errors or inconsistencies that slip through can undermine the organization’s credibility. As one industry commentary notes, attaching the company’s name to subpar writing can damage trust, so “striving for perfection is essential” during editing, ensuring the work is high quality is crucial to being taken seriously.

In short, the Content Editor plays a crucial role in ensuring content excellence, maintaining brand reputation, and enhancing marketing effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Editing & Approval: Line-edit and sign off on every blog, landing page, and campaign asset before it ships.
  • AI-Assisted Content Creation: Generate, refine, and QA drafts with n8n automations, ChatGPT/Claude, and Grammarly to accelerate high-quality output.
  • Prompt Engineering: Craft AI prompts to generate stronger first drafts and headline variants.
  • Marketing Alignment: Apply PAS, AIDA, and similar frameworks to sharpen hooks and CTAs.
  • SEO / AEO Polish: Verify keywords, metadata, and schema so content ranks in search and answer engines.
  • Style & Consistency: Enforce brand voice, style guide, and compliance rules across all copy.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Coach writers in Product, PMM, and SEO; give clear feedback and track revisions.
  • Fact-Checking: Validate stats, quotes, and technical claims with SMEs to protect brand credibility.
  • Workflow Management: Own the editorial queue, set deadlines, and keep content moving to publish on time.
  • Quality Metrics & Reporting: Monitor error rates, turnaround times, and engagement lift from edits; share insights monthly.
  • Knowledge-Base Upkeep: Maintain and update the content style guide, AI usage guidelines, and best-practice documents.
  • Continuous Improvement: Pilot new AI tools, analyze results, and refine processes for greater speed and quality. You should know what “Kaizen” means.
