Financial Aid Scholarship Specialist, Financial AidJob Description
A Scholarship Specialist in Financial Aid assists with tasks related to scholarship applications, processes, and awards. This position is a specialized support role for financial aid requiring considerable contact with parents and students. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interpret student needs, provide individualized service, and have effective written and verbal communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate has basic office, accounting, and computer skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- One year of professional experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in a Financial Aid environment
- Demonstrated ability to work on team projects
- More than one-year professional experience in a student affairs, student personnel setting, or higher education
Responsibilities:
- Participate in Financial Aid Management software management, data entry, word processing, and file management
- Assist in the review, develop, and implement scholarship policies and procedures to administer scholarships
- Collaborate and serve as an expert resource to various departments
- Identify and leverage system capabilities and technologies to ensure an efficient scholarship application cycle
- Assist during recruitment and public education activities throughout the year
- Serve on University committees as assigned by the Assistant Director
- Consult with the Assistant Director and carry out duties as assigned
- Serve as a scholarship liaison to other university entities
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned
- Coordinate scholarship programs as assigned by the Assistant Director

Salary: $17 per hour
