Position Summary:
The Head of Portfolio and Strategic Marketing is responsible for helping to inform and drive the Commercial strategy for current and future US portfolio innovation and development. This position will ensure clear commercial portfolio focus, market intelligence, market assessments and gap analysis leading to the prioritization of incremental and long term innovation from a commercial standpoint.
Key responsibilities include KOL and Key customer meetings and engagements to ensure voice of customer, attendance at key congresses, competitive audit and market landscape assessments as it relates to portfolio and competitive innovation. Gap and data analysis, both clinical, podium as well as review of primary and secondary market intelligence and reports. This position is expected to attend key congresses, travel in the field to meet with customers and KOLs, audit competitors online and in-office/at congresses and in general to have a full grasp of the current and future skincare and aesthetics/procedural landscape. Works with PIR and clinical to conduct strategic and forward thinking portfolio advisory boards. Collaborates with GPS and global/other regions as needed and when appropriate to ensure alignment, provide input and insight to help shape and align on global strategic priorities and portfolio and data needs.
Helps inform current and future data and development strategy based on clear commercial and financial market analysis and business case/modeling.
Leads and drives the Commercial opportunity sizing and portfolio prioritization. Is responsible for developing the Commercial assessments, financial modeling and business cases for each potential pipeline project.
This role requires strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe Pro.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with national and regional thought leaders to ensure that ALASTIN and Galderma are up to speed on latest trends, market intelligence and competitive landscape
- Serve as the US commercial lead for portfolio, R&D project and clinical research calls with R&D team to inform GPS and R&D of US commercial and ALASTIN current and future needs
- Liaise with GPS and regions as needed to align on market dynamics, trends, competitive intelligence and current and future market and portfolio and data needs.
- Strong understanding of clinical, regulatory and compliance environment and requirements
- Minimum 7 years Aesthetic, skin care, experience with at least 2-3 years of portfolio or other relevant upstream or strategic marketing experience required
- Scientific or clinical background or training a plus
- Conveys information clearly, using a variety of media, to individuals and groups
- Ability to convey clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively
- Demonstrates strong presentation skills
- Strong relationship building and credibility with KOLs, R&D and internal as well as external stakeholders
- Effective, planning and communication, relationship-building, and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to display proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Pro
- Ability to remain calm, interpret data and conditions as presented, and provide solutions under stress
- Clear understanding of clinical development, commercialization, compliance and regulatory landscapes and requirements
- Strong clinical and scientific competencies, able to understand the benefits and limitations of complex ingredients, peptides and formulations for both internal and competitive portfolio of products.
- Demonstrated close collaboration with leadership R&D, regulatory, Compliance, GPS and broader US Commercial Team
- Strong analytical and data driven mindset, ability to synthesize market intelligence and financial/analytical data into business cases, market assessments and revenue models as needed
- Strong collaboration with GM, Marketing and PIR to ensure unified and coordinated approach to KOLs, alignment to current and future market priorities and strategic focus
- Demonstrate ability to work with customers and provide strong clinical and market knowledge
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally stoop, bend, and kneel
- Frequently moves materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
- National travel requirement is 40% with some periods of increased travel based on meetings and business needs
- Some Weekend Travel for congresses, advisory boards etc.
