What You'll Be Doing (Your Impact):

As our Development Manager, you'll be a key part of building a sustainable future for our organization. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Build and Nurture Key Relationships: Leverage your exceptional relationship-building skills to connect with individual donors, local businesses, foundations, and community leaders across Hawaii. Your understanding of our local culture and business landscape will be key to fostering these partnerships.
  • Inspire Investment in Our Mission: Collaborate with colleagues to execute compelling engagement strategies –through campaigns, events, and innovative digital outreach – that effectively highlight our impact and drive increased financial support in alignment with our fundraising goals.
  • Tell Our Story with Impact: Craft persuasive narratives for donors and funders that highlight the vital services we provide and demonstrate the tangible difference donor support makes in the lives of children and adults with disabilities.
  • Innovate and Grow: Identify and explore new fundraising opportunities, keeping us at the forefront of effective and engaging philanthropic practices.
  • Collaborate for Collective Success: Work closely with our dedicated team, board members, and volunteers to achieve our fundraising goals.
  • Drive Growth and Measure Results: Manage fundraising activities, track progress against goals, generate and maintain a strong funding pipeline, analyze outcomes, and ensure efficient and effective use of resources to maximize our impact.

Qualifications

We believe humans with a diverse range of experiences may be suited for the work at hand. We are avoiding education and experience minimums with an acknowledgment that these can be barriers for historically excluded groups.

This role is suited for an experienced fundraising or sales leader who has a proven track record of effectively building and managing relationships, inspiring investment in a mission, and fostering collaborative partnerships within the community. Experience in the nonprofit sector or with organizations serving individuals with disabilities is a plus, as is experience with customer relationship management tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • This role requires the ability to navigate various community settings for meetings and events across Oahu (and potential travel to neighboring islands), which may involve air/boat travel, driving, walking, and standing for extended periods.
  • It also requires the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with colleagues, staff, individuals we support, and external partners, both verbally and in writing, using the primary language of the workplace. This includes the ability to actively listen and share information clearly to foster collaboration and connection, which are central to our community-centered values.
  • The role also involves the frequent use of digital communication tools, such as computers and cell phones, for presentations, data management, and to stay connected with our team and stakeholders. The capacity to lift and carry materials occasionally, such as event supplies or presentation materials (up to 20 lbs), is also needed.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events or meetings is expected.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ). The People & Performance Department must analyze DOJ/FBI live scan reports in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as fitness for the position.
  • Able to travel to multiple work sites and client homes. Reliable transportation needed. Remove if travel is not required.
  • Must have valid Hawaii Driver’s License/insurance and maintain a clean driving record. Remove if travel is not required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance through the Office of Inspector General.
  • Must attend any required training.

Full time


Compensation:

$126,000 - $155,000 Annually
