OVERVIEW
Morning Brew is seeking a Senior People Ops Generalist to join our growing People Ops team! The Senior People Ops Generalist will report to the SVP, Head of People Operations. They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR operations (benefits, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance). The ideal candidate for this position deeply understands the value of people –and how to make people feel valued – in an entrepreneurial, high-growth organization.
This role is based in New York City and requires in-office presence four days per week at Morning Brew’s headquarters.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON
- Full ownership of the company’s Leave of Absence program, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience from start to finish.
- Serve as the champion and lead for Morning Brew’s Culture Club—our employee-led initiative focused on enhancing employee experience and engagement in partnership with our Culture Club pillar leads.
- Oversee Morning Brew’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), partnering with ERG leads to create meaningful spaces that celebrate identity, build community, and champion DEI across the organization.
- Provide expert advice and support to managers to promote thoughtful, fair, and effective resolution of employee matters.
- Ensure the successful coordination and delivery of all company-wide training, while driving active participation and engagement across the organization.
- Involvement in company-wide communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment across all levels of the organization.
- Serve as a trusted resource for interpreting and implementing HR policies and procedures across areas including D&I, time off, carryover, leaves of absence, and health and safety—ensuring consistent, compliant, and employee-centric guidance.
- Collaborate with the Office Manager to deliver engaging in-office experiences and programs that enhance workplace culture and employee connection.
- Lead exit interviews and support the offboarding process to ensure a thoughtful, respectful transition while capturing valuable feedback to enhance organizational practices.
- Manage employee benefits and 401(k) administration, ensuring accurate enrollment, compliance, and support across all related programs
- Maintain company compliance in partnership with our PEO, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Act as the People Operations representative in our NYC headquarters on a daily basis, to provide visible and trusted support to our employees.
- Perform other HR related duties, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-7 years of experience in an HR capacity ideally focused on the development of impactful HR policies, procedures, and processes
- Effective at finding a balance between listening, coaching, proposing, directing, and deciding
- Commitment to the mission and values of Morning Brew Inc.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms such as Sequoia and BambooHR is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Great interpersonal skills
- Strong influence and conflict resolution skills
COMPENSATION $120,000 - $125,000 *Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.
