How You Will Contribute:

As a Senior Associate Sales Engineer, you will work performing Sales Engineering (SE) activities as a key contributing member of Ciena’s Global Sales Engineering Support Center (GSES). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Sales Engineering Operations, you will perform Network Product Introduction (NPI) related tasks, with a focus on documentation tracking. You will support Global Content Network (GCNs) customer projects, partnering with and supporting different GCN Global Sales Engineering teams to support high value Ciena optical and networking future deployments that accurately address specific customer technical needs. You’ll be mainly responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Gather information on upcoming SW releases (new features and bug fixes) and keep track of new SW and related documentation timelines with PLM/SE&I/R&D teams.

  • Review all SW related information with Global GCN SE team to determine the best action plan.

  • Elaborate and share new SW related documentation to GCN customers, identifying new features and bug fixes.

  • SW Roadmap follow-up (release dates and content per release).

  • Weekly sync-up meetings with GCN SE team, PLM, SE&I and R&D teams, to align in GCN customer current and future needs, and how to support them.

The Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic / Telecommunications engineering / Computer Science.

  • 3+ years of experience in Telecommunications industry performing an engineering role.

  • Project Management hands-on experience.

  • The candidate must reside within the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires (AMBA).

  • Advanced oral and written English level.

  • Deadline driven and willing to work outside normal hours to complete tasks.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Visio.

  • Outstanding team player.

  • Good communication skills, creativity and high energy. 

  • Must also have strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Assets:

  • Knowledge of fiber optics transmission systems such as Photonic / DWDM Systems and architectures, OTN Switching and Coherent Transmission.

  • Routing & switching basic knowledge (IP, WAN, MPLS, Network topology architectures).

  • PMI certification is a plus.

  • Familiar with Atlassian Jira.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft PowerBI.

  • Experience with customer requirements, networks and services.

  • Familiar with REST API and Netconf/Yang.
