Strategic context:

  • Sanofi is implementing an ambitious plan called “DRIVE” complementing our Play to Win Strategy with 3 main objectives (i) keep fueling our pipeline (ii) make Sanofi a modern science-driven healthcare company (iii) serving our patients.

  • In this context, Sanofi made the decision to evolve its commercial model from GBU-specific country organization's to a more standardized and consistent approach, boosting efficiency.

  • The focus will be on (i) Key Markets and most innovative products as major drivers for growth and (ii) a cross-GBUs efficiency model with optimized country set-up.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensures and optimizing materials flow from suppliers to customers, by mgmt. of resources (people, equipment & expertise)

  • Focusing on efficiency and cost reduction while complying with local regulations like GMP, safety standards. (depending on type of operation (DS/DP/FG))

  • Oversees Inbound-to-Outbound process

  • Monitor and report: Define and report control parameters (+QDCI)

  • Management of Customs and other regulations

  • Ensure timely delivery of goods

  • Monitoring stock levels

  • Conducting annual physical inventory checks,

  • Preventing obsolescence and destruction, and

  • Maintaining dashboards for stock coverage.

  • Tactical warehouse planning (capacity, labor, processes).

  • Creating transparency of needs for the future and translate them to projects/ initiates

  • Warehouse capacity management – o - 36 months view

  • Ensure delivery of started initiatives

  • Monitor and align operational budget related to spend of warehouse  and transportation costs

  • Ensuring that IT system and tools are aligned with processes, Flag adjustments in logistics IT systems in line with processes, support implementation of new functionalities & new systems, ensuring alignment with ITS/Digital guidelines, and overseeing IT spending related to logistics. Ensuring regular updates and coordination of data changes in line with central rules and proposing projects to optimize data management (only changes related to WM).

About you

Main requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in warehouse and logistics management in a manufacturing environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA or other ERP systems, focusing on MM, PP, and MDM modules

  • Strong understanding of material master data management

  • Start-up and new production introduction experience preferred

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, GMP, and pharmaceutical industry regulations

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages beneficial

  • Warehouse & Logistics  Process Optimization: Strong knowledge and experience in supply chain management, including planning, material lifecycle management, and continuous process improvement in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.

  • Compliance and Safety Expertise: Deep understanding of cGMP standards, quality control, safety regulations, and environmental health and safety (EHS) norms, ensuring compliance in all operational aspects.

  • Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Ability to make autonomous decisions, manage resources effectively, and execute root cause analysis for process deviations.

  • Related KPIs and metrics

    • Warehouse usage / capacity

    • External warehouse spends

    • Stock level and stock accuracy

    • Stock Obsolescence: Percentage of obsolete or blocked inventory.

    • Inventory Turnover Rate: Number of stock turnovers within a specific period to measure the efficiency of inventory usage.
