Sponsorisé par CourseraThe Sr.. Data Engineer facilitates the flow of often massive quantities of raw files from disparate locations into well-harmonized tables. Much is made of the potential to use data to solve the world’s problems – the data engineer knows that this “data” is useless unless it can be organized into analyzable bits…and that it's most likely a mess. No problem; data engineers are at the vanguard of the Marketing Science team, taking raw and essentially unusable information and refining it into the stuff of predictive models. The data engineer often solves problems “on the ground,” with little documentation and vague direction from business stakeholders; they pave the way for fruitful analysis by turning chaos into a functional process.
Although the Sr. Data Engineer is fully capable of learning on the job as he or she delivers, by now, you have a few tricks up your sleeve and can quickly come in and solve problems by adapting solutions you’ve seen in earlier work. Moreover, you’ve made enough mistakes and have had to live with them to know how a well-run team should comment their code, document their work, and structure their day so that tech debt does not accumulate.

- Lead by example, setting robust and scalable processes
- Provide solutions to current issues
- Willingness to share knowledge
- Automate manual processes through SQL, python, etc…
- Analyze documentation and propose data extraction solutions

- Provide the “voice of reason” that keeps the rest of the team grounded in what is possible and by when
- Understand the nuances of the analysis required
- Explain the complexities involved with data extraction to analysts
- Work closely with the rest of the MKS and account teams to understand the business context of the account
- Stay up to date on the latest industry news and analysis techniques
- Assist in tagging and data infrastructure design
You have
- Advanced English level (at least B2+)
- 3+ years experience using SQL, Python, or working with APIs
