Job Description & Summary: We are seeking a skilled Database Developer with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and SQL Server to support our database migration efforts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex queries. This role requires proficiency in both T-SQL and PL/pgSQL, along with a deep understanding of query optimization and performance tuning. This role involves converting database objects from SQL Server to PostgreSQL and ensuring efficient and optimized database operations.

Responsibilities:

• Migrate database components from SQL Server to PostgreSQL, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex queries.
• Rewrite and optimize SQL Server code to ensure efficiency and performance in PostgreSQL.
• Implement equivalent PostgreSQL features and ensure smooth functionality post-migration.
• Optimize queries, indexes, and database performance to enhance efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database migration and performance.

Mandatory skill sets:

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL development.
• Proficiency in writing stored procedures, functions, and triggers in PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
• Expertise in T-SQL and PL/pgSQL programming.
• Extensive experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
• Proven experience in converting database objects from SQL Server to PostgreSQL.
• Ability to analyze and rewrite complex queries efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred skill sets:

• Experience working on large-scale database migrations.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.
