Arobas Personnel is seeking a Network Engineer for a contract opportunity with one of our clients located in Mississauga.
*Remote : Hybrid-1 days/week in the office*
What will your day look like?
- Network Design & Deployment: Support the planning and implementation of LAN/WAN architectures, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Track network performance, proactively detect issues, and resolve them using diagnostic tools and best practices.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and access controls, ensuring alignment with internal policies and industry standards.
- Documentation: Keep precise records of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Partner with system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and vendors to deliver infrastructure projects and solve complex issues.
- Upgrades & Maintenance: Perform firmware updates, hardware replacements, and capacity planning to maintain network scalability and reliability.
- Support: Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated incidents and service requests.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in network engineering or administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Wireshark).
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN, VoIP, and network automation (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).
