This position offers compensation according to the Educator Salary Schedule for 182 days per year, with an additional 21 days. Job Overview
Reporting to the Director of Assessment, School Improvement & Research, the Assessment and School Improvement Facilitator plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the school district. This position leverages expertise in assessment design, data analysis, and instructional best practices to support schools in identifying areas for growth, implementing evidence-based strategies, and monitoring progress towards achieving district and school-wide goals. The Facilitator collaborates closely with school leaders, coaches, teachers, and staff to build capacity for effective data use and drive measurable gains in student outcomes. Additionally, this position facilitates professional learning for teachers and staff on a variety of federal, state and local assessments.
Desired Education and Training for Essential Functions:
- Bachelor Degree in Education or related field
- Masters Degree in Education preferred
- Minimum of 5 years classroom teacher experience
- Experience with a variety of assessment platforms
- Knowledge of school accountability systems
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google
- Knowledge of educational data and reporting requirements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Responsibilities:
- Assessment Leadership and Support:
- Collaborating with district and school staff to develop and refine formative, summative, and benchmark assessments that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
- Staying current on research-based assessment methods and providing guidance to schools on effective assessment design, administration, scoring, and interpretation.
- Supporting the logistics of district-wide assessments, including scheduling, training, and security protocols.
- Supporting the use of various assessment platforms and providing professional learning to district and school staff.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Facilitating data inquiry processes by guiding school teams through data analysis protocols to understand their data and identify actionable insights.
- Working with school leaders and teachers to use data to inform instructional practices, resource allocation, and school improvement planning.
- Providing professional learning to enhance the capacity of staff to understand, interpret, and utilize data effectively.
- Providing professional learning on various data platform to develop the capacity of staff to access data
- School Improvement Planning and Implementation:
- Guiding school teams through a collaborative process to develop comprehensive and data-informed school improvement plans.
- Assisting schools in developing metrics to track the implementation and impact of their improvement initiatives.
- Creating opportunities for schools to share best practices and learn from each other's experiences.
- Offering individualized support to school leaders and teachers in implementing improvement plans and strategies.
- Ensuring that school improvement plans are aligned with the overall vision, goals, and strategic priorities of the school district.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Establishing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with school leaders, teachers, district administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborating with other district-level staff to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to supporting schools.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current with data analysis best practices and educational trends.
- Clearly and effectively communicating complex information related to assessment and school improvement to diverse audiences.
- Collaborating with external consultants, researchers, and organizations as needed to support district and school improvement efforts.
