Summary Job Description
The Director of Programs for People with Intellectual Disabilities provides strategic, operational, and programmatic leadership for programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Director is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and growth of OPWDD-certified services, including but not limited to family care services, day habilitation, and community habilitation. This position ensures all services are person-centered, trauma-informed, and compliant with New York State and federal regulations.
The Director will lead strategic planning for new service development, maintain strong partnerships with Care Coordination Organizations (CCOs), and foster a high-performance, inclusive workforce. The role requires deep knowledge of OPWDD regulations, Medicaid waiver services, and a strong commitment to dignity, inclusion, and self-determination. The Director will oversee programs serving Suffolk, Nassau and Queens counties. Weekly travel to supervise staff located in both our Wading River and Brooklyn offices is required. The position can be located in either our Brooklyn or Wading River office. This is a hybrid remote position.

Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York is a human services nonprofit supporting the well-being of children, youth, families, and individuals across New York City and Long Island since 1929.
Our staff of more than 500 builds well-being by providing prevention services, foster care, residential treatment care, adoption services, programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities, and medical and mental health services.

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $140,000 with a comprehensive benefits package. Pay rate will be commensurate with knowledge and experience.
Travel Requirements
This position offers a full-time, in person schedule and is based in Brooklyn or Wading River and requires travel to Wading River and New York City, and other locations when needed.
