The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented leader who can coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure successful project delivery while maintaining strong client and stakeholder communication.

This role requires both strong project management expertise and a working knowledge of industrial automation and control systems to effectively bridge technical and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage new product development initiatives, including design reviews, prototyping, testing, validation, and product release.
  • Oversee the sales order and engineering-to-order process and billable hours, ensuring customer requirements are accurately captured, engineered, and delivered.
  • Prepare quotations and cost estimates for engineering services and custom control systems.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability; support contract negotiation and vendor/subcontractor management as needed.
  • Provide regular project status reports to leadership and customers, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and communicated.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 79, IEC, UL, CE, ISO, etc.), quality regulations, and company policies.
  • Promote best practices in project management, continuous improvement, and lean methodologies.
  • Prepare and submit invoices and supporting documentation for engineering projects and service contracts.
  • Act as a primary client interface, balancing technical requirements with customer expectations and fostering strong long-term relationships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Industrial Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in industrial automation, manufacturing, or technology integration.
  • Familiarity with control systems, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, motion control, or electrical/mechanical design processes strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Financial acumen, including budget forecasting, cost tracking, and margin management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP and CRM systems in a project-driven environment.
  • PMP, Agile, or Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Driven to provide excellent customer service and develop strong customer relationships.
