Position Statement

The ABA Based Social Skills Group Coordinator is responsible for coordinating services and providing leadership for Alpine Learning Group Autism Services’ Social Skills programs. The SSGC is a team leader able to work with individuals with diverse needs, models exemplary professionalism, demonstrates proficiency with  problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, as well as with educational technology and data collection.

Qualifications/Certificates:

• Bachelor's degree required in psychology, social work, education or related field; RBT and Master’s in related field preferred
• Interest in becoming a BCBA or a BCaBA or currently en route to become either credential preferred (tuition reimbursement and supervision available)  
• Minimum of five  years’ experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities in a group or one-to-one setting, or in providing ABA-based interventions in centers or homes
• Knowledge of insurance-funded ABA services (preferred)
• Experience in implementing socially directed programming goals (preferred)
• Experience in overseeing staff implementation of goals (preferred)
• Experience in interviewing staff (preferred)
• Experience organizing and scheduling services (preferred)
• Knowledge of ABA insurance funding (preferred).

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and coordination of Alpine Learning Group’s Social Skills program
• Build upon and refine the Alpine Learning Group's Social Skills curriculum
• Develop Social Skills’ standard operating procedures, updating as changes are implemented
• Screen and interview candidates for open positions 
• Provide initial training and oversite to group facilitators and lead facilitators
• Runs social skills groups as backup to facilitators
• Assign clinical supervisors to groups
• Conduct performance reviews for social skills staff
• Conduct meetings with prospective caregivers interested in joining the programs
• Ensure timely learner assessment and treatment plan, and ongoing re-assessment and re-authorization reports, conducted by BCBAs, in a timely manner to ensure authorization compliance
• Assign participants to groups according to group focus and participants’ skill set
• Plan and coordinate implementation of group activities to facilitate progress on goals
• Monitor program effectiveness through data analysis
• Communicate with caregivers about questions and concerns
• Send, receive and store learner contract and enrollment forms
• In collaboration with Clinical Director, monitor KPIs and participate in quarterly meetings.
• Provide timely updates to the Clinical Director regarding staff and learner progress and concerns
• Ensure training is scheduled regularly for CPR, First Aide, Safety drill 
• Oversee training of social skills facilitators 
• Ensure successful completion of onboarding of per diem BCBAs
• Collaborate with Insurance Specialist for compliance with authorization
• Collaborate with the Scheduler to ensure appropriate staffing of groups
• Monitor scheduling on a daily basis
• Make necessary changes to grouping and staff assignment in case of staff or learner cancelation on a daily basis
• Monitor monthly supervision scheduling and completion and adjust as necessary
• Attend clinical team meetings
• Attend meetings with the Clinical Director biweekly
• Perform any additional duties as directed by the Director 

Starting Salary: $60,000, dependent upon relevant work experience and education 

Job Type: Full-time, M - F, onsite, generally 10:30a - 6:30p

Reports to: Clinical Director of Center for Autism

Have high ethical standards

Excellent problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and proficiency in both oral and written communication

Proficiency with educational technology (e.g. tablets, computers)

Ability to implement and monitor skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans

Maintain confidentiality    

Clearances: Compliance with Federal and State Personnel Code requirements, including, but not limited to Mantoux TB test, Criminal History Review, Citizenship status and P.L. 2018, c.5 if hired after June 1, 2018.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

Sitting, walking, standing, occasional running, some lifting, good fine and gross motor coordination when guiding students, ability to supervise play and exercise routines, vision and hearing and receptive and expressive language abilities as suited to instructional and behavioral needs of one’s learners.
