Description
Position: General Manager
Position Summary:
The General Manager will be responsible for the safety, growth, profitability, productivity, quality and cost of our reverse logistics 3PL facility. Our General Manager will lead a team of managers, supervisors, and hourly teammates and oversee the entire facility operations team to execute the work required (including return to vendor, liquidation, fulfillment, testing, and repair) as safely and efficiently as possible. This role will handle management responsibilities for the team members under his/her supervision and is responsible for ensuring prompt, efficient and accurate handling of returns merchandise as well as developing and implementing team goals.
The General Manager is responsible for providing service excellence for our client(s) and ensures facility management: (1) Develops and executes daily and weekly operational plans; (2) Meets or exceeds customer service level expectations while achieving maximum operating efficiency; (3) Maximizes quality and productivity of the facility; (4) Manages a diverse teammate population; (5) Nurtures positive teammate relations, focuses on a safe and productive work environment; (6) Ensures all corporate policies and procedures are adhered to and short and long term plans are implemented.

Builds client relationships with an objective of supporting a “keep and grow” strategy

Works closely with key account management in support of QBRs and monthly reporting requirements

Creates and sets operational goals based on KPIs and client SLAs
-
Drives Results: Maintains inventory accuracy and control; reviews reports & identify area of improvement for key metrics including productivity, accuracy, quality and expenses
-
Business Planning: Coordinates and monitors operations with the functional area to ensure performance production rates are consistent with business plan and pattern, reducing irregularities and damages

Reviews reports and business metrics to analyze and plan staffing needs for optimum department operations

Daily balancing of labor availability and volume requirements throughout the facility

Manages site P&L, budget, GL

Attracts, develops and retains top talent through coaching and top grading
-
Creates and lives a culture of accountability
-
Develops, implements and directs equipment preventative maintenance programs, and facility building/grounds maintenance programs
-
Ensures all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed to ensure compliance, and that equipment and work areas are neat, clean and well organized

Embeds lean and continuous improvement across the facilities
-
Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels; demonstrated effective on the floor listening and follow-up; self-confidence; strong relationship building skills

Possess a complete understanding and partner with other facility leaders, including Industrial Engineers, to drive and build best practices (SOPs)

Investigates operational errors to determine the cause and recommends corrective action
Qualifications
Requirements:
-
A Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, management, or in similar field
-
8+ years of experience leading 50+ associates in the logistics warehouse, inventory field, plus demonstrated management qualifications

Six Sigma, lean or related certification/training preferred
-
Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance (Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations)

High level of reverse & distribution business acumen

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
