Description

Works closely with the Quality and Regulatory Manager to ensure quality compliance and maintenance of Inorganic Ventures’ quality management system. Collaborates with department leaders on investigations related to nonconformances, external, and internal audits. Oversees technical customer complaints, calibrated instrumentation, asset IDs for quality related equipment, and Ideagen. Hybrid schedule available after successful completion of the onboarding period.

Authority

The Quality Specialist has the authority to perform all tasks and duties as assigned herein. Authority is also granted for the following: Approve complaint resolutions; Manage and determine the disposition of products in the Quarantine area; Create, edit and/or review policy, procedures, and work instructions; Review/approve Change Control and Product Design processes.

Authority to stop work: This authority permits any employee at any level to halt a job or task when a hazardous situation appears imminent, or they feel unsafe.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Works closely with the Quality and Regulatory Manager in initiatives related to external audits and ISO Accreditation, Registration processes.
• Leads internal process audits, creates audit reports, and works with department leaders to ensure implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
• Leads company-wide initiatives such as product design, change control projects and continuous improvement reviews.
• Collaborates with department leaders to adequately document nonconformances.
• Oversees technical customer complaints, customer requests, and internal investigations. 
• Oversees the Asset Management program by maintaining current calibrations for instrumentation and equipment as needed.
• Oversees product quarantine procedures to include nonconforming product and product returns.
• Serves as the administrator for Ideagen Quality Management Software
• Facilitates the proficiency testing program. 
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

Required 

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years working in a quality management, or process driven, environment
• Excellent grammar, diction and math skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication, both verbal and written
• Experience in project and change management with the ability to effectively prioritize work to meet timelines and challenges
• Ability to approach problem solving using innovative ideas and a broad perspective
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other stakeholders with diverse viewpoints
• The ability to interpret and provide guidance on policies and procedures
• Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals to include internationaland domestic customers
• Demonstrated experience using computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, database related)

Preferred

• Associates degree and/or advanced education in a related field of study
• Prior experience with audit compliance  
• Knowledge of the periodic table
• PMP or CAPM certification, or willingness to pursue certification
