Job Description

Employer Name:     DPR Construction, A General Partnership (DPR Construction)

Position:          Optimization Analyst

Work location:         Austin, Texas

Job Duties:
Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.

Use graduate-level knowledge of data analysis, mathematical modeling, problem-solving, identifying constraints and correlations, and critical thinking to develop/utilize mathematical or simulation models to aid in identifying and resolving operations issues or constraints. Capture both quantitative data, (such as usage statistics) and qualitative data, (such as user satisfaction and feedback) using Project Management (PM) tool(s) such as Monday.com. Leverage data visualization capabilities in Tableau, Power BI and other visual aid tools to translate results of mathematical modeling and complex data findings into understandable and actionable operations insights for key stakeholders, ensuring that the information is accessible and understandable to all. Conduct research into how proposed operations solutions align with both user needs and broader organizational goals, drawing from graduate-level knowledge of the Architecture/Engineering/Design/Construction industries. Integrate stakeholder feedback through interactive Tableau dashboards to facilitate real-time data exploration and adjust based on input from various departments within DPR. Employ Natural Language Processing (NLP) Techniques to extract and quantify relationships within text data, transforming qualitative information into actionable numerical parameters using techniques like sentiment analysis and topic modeling to identify variables and constraints relevant to specific problems. Use findings to compile the enterprise portfolio solution at DPR. Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy, and reformulate models, as necessary. Refine and reformulate models to better align with the underlying data and stakeholder objectives. Engage key stakeholders to validate findings and refine understanding, fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving that leverages diverse perspectives and expertise within the organization. Partner with business groups to understand operations concerns and factor them into the incremental solutions being built as part of the Project Management (PM) tool implementation across the company.
