Summary:

Saw/Machine operators are responsible for setting up and operating power saws to slot, cut, and trim metallic and non-metallic materials. The operators set up the machines, choose and install blades on machinery using hand-tools and verify dimensions of finished material using measuring devices 

Principle Duties and Areas of Responsibility:

• Performs basic preventative maintenance on saw equipment
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as tape measures, cmm’s, calipers and micrometers
• Inspect raw stock for defects, keeping record of all non-conforming pieces 
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
• Adheres to company quality protocols and processes
• Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the H&S handbook
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Understand and follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches and work orders 
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines 

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate; experience using a band saw preferred
