Quality and Compliance Nurse Manager

Location: Onsite at our Corporate Office – Wilmington, NC
(This is not a remote position)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible day shift. Occasional travel to patient care sites and occasional weekend/holiday work based on job demands.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Registered nurse in the Quality and Compliance Nurse Manager position, you will be:

  • Leading the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.

  • Tracking clinical and operational performance metrics, analyzing trends, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Managing internal audits, chart reviews, mock surveys, and follow-up on corrective actions.

  • Facilitating root cause analyses and quality improvement projects alongside clinical and administrative teams.

  • Overseeing compliance logs for incidents, complaints, infection control, and adverse events.

  • Reviewing and updating policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements.

  • Preparing the organization for state, federal, and accreditation surveys.

  • Developing and delivering engaging staff education on quality, compliance, and best practices.

  • Representing quality and compliance perspectives at interdisciplinary and leadership meetings.

  • Providing management, support, and training to the quality and compliance team.

  • Staying current with hospice regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

  • Fostering a collaborative, solutions-focused culture that aligns with our mission, vision, and values.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.

  • Licensure/Certifications: RN license; Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or similar credential a plus.

  • Experience: At least 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably in hospice or healthcare quality/compliance; leadership and survey preparedness experience a plus.

  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • Strong understanding of hospice regulations (CMS, state, accrediting bodies).

    • Advanced data analysis, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

    • Ability to present and teach quality improvement concepts to staff.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and EHR systems.

  • Interpersonal Strengths: Excellent communicator with strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, twist, pull, lift, ambulate, and travel to care sites as needed.
