Our Parsons Seattle office is now hiring for a  Principal Designer to join our team! In this role you will get to work with a team of engineers and other drafters using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to create engineering drawings supporting transportation infrastructure projects in Washington State  and beyond. Fully Virtual or Hybrid remote work allowed (meaning, working from home 0-5 days per week) . This role supports civil road, rail and highway, and structural bridge or tunnel projects. This role can be virtually based in North America ( USA or Canada)

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Work with a team of engineers and other drafters to create drawing packages for transportation construction projects
  • Design drafting for roadway and/or bridge projects for WSDOT, Sound Transit and other clients
  • Use drafting and design software from the Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley Open Roads Designer or Microstation suites, depending on client requirements.
  • Check your work to adherence to client CAD standards and engineers’ markups
  • Utilize ProjectWise or Autodesk Construction Cloud file management system as directed
  • Support projects for Sound Transit, WSDOT and other clients
  • Possibly some bridge structural projects support as well

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 2-year technical degree or other related certification of completion from an accredited designer/drafter course (or equivalent) is required , and typically 10 years or more of related experience.
  • Experience supporting transportation infrastructure, inclusive of road and highway projects is essential
  • Proficiency with either Microstation and/or Autocad Civil 3D software
  • Solid Microstation knowledge and experience is essential for this role.

Salary Range: $41.68 - $72.93
